Molly Hatchet

Molly Hatchet é uma banda americana, de southern rock, formada em Jacksonville, Florida, em 1974, conhecida principalmente pela música "Flirtin' with Disaster", do álbum com o mesmo título.

A banda foi fundada por Dave Hlubeck e Steve Holland que batizaram a banda numa alusão a uma lendária prostituta que supostamente mutilava e decapitava seus clientes.

A banda tem influências do Lynyrd Skynyrd e .38 Special cujo vocalista, Donnie Van Zant, é irmão de Ronnie Van Zant, do Lynyrd Skynyrd.

O primeiro álbum da banda, homônimo, foi lançado pela Epic Records, em 1978, ganhou o status de multi-platina e estabeleceu a reputação de uma banda que trabalhava pesado. Nesta época a banda excursionou com nomes de peso do rock como Aerosmith, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones e muitos outros
