The Moody Blues

Os Moody Blues foram um dos muitos projectos que surgiram na vaga da chamada british invasion, em finais da década de 60 e início de 70. O percurso da banda teve início em Birmingham, Inglaterra, onde o grupo El Riot and the Rebels, fundado por Ray Thomas e Mike Pinder, era um dos mais importantes nomes da altura. Pinder abandonou entretanto o projecto, mas voltou a colaborar com Thomas em 1963. Juntos formaram os Krew Cats, uma banda que chegou a actuar em palcos alemães, e onde sempre foi muito bem recebida. Quando os músicos regressaram a casa, que é como quem diz, ao Reino Unido, depararam-se com centenas de novos grupos, todos em busca de um lugar ao sol.
Foi nesta altura que o duo resolveu recrutar músicos profissionais para formarem uma banda e enfrentar a concorrência, e foi então que nasceram os Moody Blues. Os eleitos foram Denny Laine (voz e guitarra), Graeme Edge (bateria) e Clint Warwick (voz e baixo), todos ex-membros das mais bem conceituadas bandas de Birmingham da altura.
