Aerosmith

Aerosmith é uma banda de hard rock dos Estados Unidos da América, formada em Boston, Massachusetts no ano de 1970,

tendo desfrutado de grande popularidade durante meados da década, final dos anos 1980 e início dos anos 1990.

É a banda americana de rock que mais vendeu discos na história

Com vendas estimadas em mais de 150 milhões de cópias no mundo inteiro, incluindo 66.5 milhões de cópias nos Estados Unidos.

A banda também tem o recorde de mais álbuns ouro/multi platina por uma banda americana

O Aerosmith surgiu em 1969, da junção de duas bandas: Chain Reaction, do vocalista Steven Tyler, e Jam Band, do guitarrista Joe Perry e do baixista Tom Hamilton. Joe Perry trabalhava em uma lanchonete de Sunapee, New Hampshire. Lá ele conheceu o cliente Steven Tyler. Quando Steven viu a Jam Band tocando Rattlesnake Shake, surgiu o embrião do Aerosmith.

A formação da banda se completou com a entrada do guitarrista Ray Tabano e do baterista Joey Kramer. Ray era um velho amigo de Steven e Joey vinha da mesma cidade dos dois, tendo, inclusive, estudado na mesma escola que Steven. Pouco tempo depois, Ray foi substituído por Brad Whitford, e assim surgiu a formação clássica do Aerosmith. Joey sugeriu o nome "Aerosmith", que, segundo ele, não tem nenhum significado especial: era apenas uma palavra que ele gostava de escrever nos seus cadernos da escola.
